Lányos Mocha © Wallet Sewing Pattern
A PDF SEWING PATTERN for the Mocha © Wallet. The Mocha Wallet is suited for raw edge materials and has two sections, each having a zipper pouch large enough for bills, receipts, a passport, or a cell phone, with a magnetic snap closure tab holding the two pouches together. There are 6 card slots on each pouch, making 12 card slots total. The Mocha also comes with choices of a wrist strap, an adjustable shoulder strap or our signature “Hardware Heavy” adjustable shoulder strap, with instructions for using various accent materials. Your Mocha Wallet will have a finished size of approximately 9" long x 5" wide (22.8 cm x 12.7 cm); twice as long when open to accommodate the 12 card slots, 6 each side!
Also included are FOUR choices of Appliqués/Reverse Appliqués for raw edge materials, that can be hand or machine cut, to produce multiple designs - Heart, Skull, Swirl, Cat Paws.

I sew my Mocha Wallets on my Janome HD3000 and my Janome MC8200QCP; both heavy duty domestic sewing machines, not industrials. I try to make things that don’t need an industrial machine. Choose materials your machine can handle and test them out. If you use a lightweight raw edge material, your Mocha Wallet can be stabilized inside with a stiff interfacing or template acrylic.
This is an Adventurous Beginner pattern. Many TIPS are provided in the pattern and video to help you learn! There are detailed instructions and over 150 large colour photos for every technique. All pattern pieces are included, including rectangles and straps, or you may wish to use the “Material Cutting Table” included with this pattern instead. Pattern Instructions include both metric and imperial units.

– all Pattern Pieces, including all the rectangle/square pieces, THREE Strap options and FOUR appliqués/reverse appliqués for a Heart, Skull, Swirl, and Cat Paws, with all formats: Letter, A4, A0 copy shop, Projector files.

Please note that I am not an IT person and have consulted with an IT person on how to prepare & upload, download, unzip and open SVG/PNG files in a cutting machine program. If you are having difficulty with your system, please contact a professional.

Material and Hardware Requirements:
* OUTER and INNER LAYERS, SHOULDER and WRIST STRAPS, D-RING TABS – 1/2 yard (0.5 metre) of raw edge material, for example 0.7 mm faux leather/suede/vinyl, cork, or a similar product.
TIP: If your raw edge material is too soft, your Mocha Wallet will be floppy and need Stabilizer; too hard and you might not be able to get 6 layers through your sewing machine.
* OPTIONAL: STABILIZER and/or FOAM for OUTER LAYERS – 8” x 8” (20 cm x 20 cm) of Pellon Peltex, Craft Plastic/Template Acrylic 0.020 mm, or similar. Foam used was similar to By Annie Soft and Stable.
* NON-FRAYING LINING MATERIALS – 1/2 yard (0.5 metre) of non-fraying material, like WP/WR canvas, or a similar product.
• OPTIONAL: GROSGRAIN RIBBON for CARD SLOT LININGS – 3 1/2” wide x 5’ (9 cm x 1.5 metres), although specific instructions for working with Grosgrain Ribbon are not included in these pattern instructions.
* OPTIONAL: ACCENT MATERIALS for SHOULDER and WRIST STRAPS, D-RING TABS, and MAGNETIC SNAP CLOSURE TABS – 1/4 yard (0.25 metre) of quilting cotton, lightweight faux leather/suede/vinyl, cork, or a similar product.
* OPTIONAL: LIGHTWEIGHT INTERFACING if using Quilting Cotton for Accent Materials – 1/4 yard (0.25 metre) of Pellon SF101 Shapeflex, Ebfuse, STIFI (120gsm), or a similar product.
* OPTIONAL: WEBBING for SHOULDER and WRIST STRAPS, and D-RING TABS – 1” wide x 83“ in length (2.5 cm x 2.1 meters)
* #5 Zipper Tape. TWO Zipper Tape lengths of 10” (25 cm) each. TWO Zipper Pulls.
TIP: Good quality zipper tape/zipper pulls are recommended or the pulls will slide open on their own over time. #3 Zipper tape and store bought Zippers are not recommended as they do not always have Zipper tape wide enough to sew the Mocha Wallet properly.
* ONE 1/2” (1 cm) Magnetic Snap
For Optional Adjustable Shoulder Strap:
2 x D-Rings or Triangle Rings, 1” (2.5 cm)
2 x Swivel Hooks, 1” (2.5 cm)
1 x Slider, 1” (2.5 cm)
OPTIONAL: 2 x Chicago Screws or Rivets. (I used 3/8” x 3/16” Chicago Screws, but it all depends on the thickness of your materials.)
For Optional “Hardware Heavy” Adjustable Shoulder Strap:
2 x D-Rings or Triangle Rings, 1” (2.5 cm)
2 x Swivel Hooks, 1” (2.5 cm)
1 x Slider, 1” (2.5 cm)
2 x Rectangle Rings or Double D-Rings, 1” (2.5 cm)
