Lányos Gemma©️ Bag Sewing Pattern - YouTube, LET, A4, A0, Projector

A PDF SEWING PATTERN for the Gemma © Bag, a fully lined crossbody bag 10″ wide x 11″ high (25 cm x 28 cm) with an angled pocket on the front matching the angled seam design on the back. The Gemma Bag has a long adjustable crossbody strap. Inside there are slip pocket(s) and/or zippered pocket(s)! There are options for a 1" or 2" (2.5 cm or 5 cm) deep gusset too!

I sew my Gemma Bags on my Janome HD3000 and my Janome MC8200QCP, both domestic machines, not industrials. I try to make products that don’t need an industrial machine. Test your machine with scraps to see if it can sew through your layers.

This is an Adventurous Beginner sewing pattern. Pattern Instructions include both metric and imperial units. There are 31 pages of detailed instructions and 81 colour photographs to help you construct your Gemma Bag, including:

– a magnetic snap pocket on the outside

– slip pocket(s) and/or zippered pocket(s) on the inside

– sewing your Gemma in two sizes/widths, 1” or 2” deep (2.5 cm or 5 cm)

– sewing instructions for FABRIC or raw edged material, like CORK and VINYL

In addition, there are:

– ALL pattern pieces included, including square/rectangle pieces, formatted for printing on either Letter, A4, A0, or Projector format. Follow the instructions on the pattern pieces when assembling the larger pieces.

– a detailed zipper pocket template

– a Material Cutting Chart for measuring and cutting the square/rectangle pattern pieces

NOTE! The Gemma Bag was reviewed and updated in January/February 2026. All patterns pieces, including square/rectangle pieces, straps, and tabs, are included in the NEW version. The instructions have been reviewed and corrected to avoid some confusion as to zipper lengths. Updates have been uploaded into the Shop. New Shop customers will have the Gemma updates added to their Shop account automatically, and old Shop customers can access the updates upon receipt of proof of purchase.
